Perlman elected to the National Academy of Sciences

Stanley Perlman, professor of microbiology and immunology, and pediatrics in the Carver College of Medicine, has been elected as a member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) for his distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.

UI pauses associate provost and Graduate College dean search

The University of Iowa is temporarily suspending its search for a new associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College. Two finalists were invited for interviews in April, after which a candidate was offered the position but elected to pursue another opportunity.

Kevin Washburn elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Kevin Washburn, College of Law professor and former dean, has been elected to the 2025 class of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, which recognizes and celebrates the excellence of its members and operates as an independent research center for members to work together to address significant challenges.
