Housed within the Office of the Provost, the Office of Writing and Communication will connect the efforts of a wide range of communication programs, from the world-renowned Iowa Writers’ Workshop to the range of undergraduate, graduate, and outreach initiatives that have long distinguished Iowa as the “Writing University.”

The University of Iowa has received a renewal of a federal grant to continue supporting first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities through its TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program.

Student Disability Services (SDS), which currently operates within the Division of Student Life, will transition to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost on July 1, 2025. This administrative change will not impact the services SDS provides or the staff who deliver them.
