Tanya Uden-Holman
Tanya Uden-Holman was appointed Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean of the University College in June 2018. She earned her BA, MA, and PhD in sociology from the University of Iowa. Prior to her appointment, Dr. Uden-Holman served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Public Health for 14 years. She is a full clinical professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy.
Dr. Uden-Holman’s activities at the University of Iowa have included service on numerous collegiate and university committees. Dr. Uden-Holman served as chair of the UI Interprofessional Education Steering Committee initiative which involved all five of the health sciences colleges. Additionally, Dr. Uden-Holman is involved in pipeline activities to increase the diversity of the emerging workforce. She served as co-principal investigator for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded Summer Health Professions Education program, which seeks to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions. Her extramural funding also includes the Midwestern Public Health Training Center, funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration, which focuses on public health and healthcare workforce development.
