Advertising

All vacancies will be advertised for a minimum of 14 days. Departments may opt to extend advertising and requisitions will include an advertising closing date, when known. 

Standard Employee Expectations

All employees at The University of Iowa and specifically in departments under the Office of the Provost are expected to meet or exceed basic to working proficiency in several common areas, as follows.

Competencies

  • Universal - applies to all positions at varying proficiency levels
  • Technical - position specific (review individual job description for details)

Technical Skills

  • Computer - we primarily use Dell PCs and compatible software. (Specific positions may use other PCs such as Apple, or software as necessary.)
  • Software/Programs - the standard programs used on campus for communication and work productivity include the Microsoft Office Suite 365.  (Some offices or units may choose to expand or focus on others such as Google or Apple specific as well.)
