Deb Tiemens, associate director of institutional data, has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Association of American Universities Data Exchange (AAUDE), recognizing her longstanding leadership and service to the organization.
AAUDE is a public service organization that supports data-informed decision-making and policy discussions among leading research universities.
A longtime AAUDE member, council chair, and strategic planning co-lead, Tiemens helped guide the organization through periods of change, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Her expertise across multiple data exchanges strengthened the quality and consistency of shared institutional data, while her mentorship and collaborative approach made her a trusted colleague across the organization.
In nominating Tiemens for the award, colleagues praised both her leadership and her commitment to supporting others.
“Throughout her career, Deb has embodied the spirit of service that this award is meant to recognize,” her nominators wrote. “She combines technical excellence with humility, leadership with approachability, and deep expertise with a genuine desire to help others. Her sustained contributions—across leadership, data exchange, conference programming, committee work, and member support—have had a lasting and meaningful impact on AAUDE and its membership.”
