RE:           Registrar's Office--Assistant Provost and University Registrar Announcement

DATE:      February 4, 2022

I am very pleased to announce that Julie Fell has been appointed as Assistant Provost and University Registrar, effective February 1st.  Julie previously held the Interim Assistant Provost and University Registrar title.

Julie began her career at the University in 1984 as a clerk in the University Business Office and in the years leading up to her current appointment, she has served in leadership roles as Assistant, Associate, Senior Associate, and Executive Associate Registrar, each with progressively more responsibility and oversight.  Julie is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the Upper Midwest Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (UMACRAO).  Julie holds a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Higher Education Administration degree from Upper Iowa University.

Julie oversees the Office of the Registrar operations that serve all campus populations including undergraduate, graduate and professional, faculty, staff, and alumni.  She oversees registration, exam scheduling, grade processing, tuition and fees, residency, transcripts and verifications, degree audit, graduation services and diploma production, commencement, curriculum management, student veteran benefits, student athlete academic eligibility, student data warehouse, institutional research and reporting.  Her position demonstrates commitment to providing high quality learning environments to our faculty and students in coordination, scheduling assignment, and management of the University Classroom inventory.

I am very confident of Julie’s experience and leadership abilities, and I know that she will represent the Registrar’s Office, Office of the Provost, and University very well.
