Building an Effective Two-Page CV

The External Awards and Recognition Office invites you to join us for a virtual workshop, Building an Effective Two-Page CV, on Oct. 28 at noon, hosted by Sue Curry, Dean Emerita.

While most faculty maintain a comprehensive academic CV, there are many situations where a concise, strategic overview of your career is needed. A well-crafted two-page CV highlights your most significant accomplishments, leadership roles, scholarly impact, and professional recognition, making it easier for others to quickly understand the scope and significance of your contributions.

This type of document is particularly valuable for external award nominations, leadership opportunities, and other forms of professional recognition. It can also help you identify the themes, achievements, and distinguishing characteristics that define your career and set you apart in your field.

During this workshop, participants will learn:

  • Why a two-page CV is an important professional tool

  • How two-page CVs are used in awards and recognition efforts

  • What information to include, and what to leave out

  • How to organize accomplishments into a compelling career narrative

The session will include examples, practical guidance, and tips you can immediately apply to your own materials.
