Excellence in Teaching and Learning (ETL) Faculty Fellow

The Excellence in Teaching and Learning (ETL) Faculty Fellow will work with the associate provost for undergraduate education on project(s) to advance the ETL goal in the UI 2022-2027 strategic plan. For consideration, applicants must demonstrate an established record as an effective teacher, strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of diverse student learning needs, and the ability to work across department and college environments. The role will begin in Summer 2024 and span the 2024-2025 academic year.

To apply for the provost faculty fellowship, an applicant should submit the following in a single bookmarked PDF:

  • Cover letter, including a description of the applicant’s contributions and experience with course and curriculum innovation based on diverse student learning needs, assessment of student learning and teaching effectiveness, and/or fostering organizational change in higher education contexts

  • Vision statement addressing the following prompt: Define teaching excellence and provide action items or tactics for promoting campus-wide teaching and learning innovations

  • Summary curriculum vitae

  • Administrative endorsement from applicant’s DEO

  • Be a faculty member in the instructional, clinical, or tenure track at or above the rank of associate professor

Faculty Development Faculty Fellow

The Faculty Development Faculty Fellow will work with the associate provost for faculty on strategies to support faculty success that align with the UI strategic plan. The strategic plan has been focused on aspects of the faculty lifecycle including recruitment, retention, development, and recognition. For consideration, applicants should have a demonstrated ability to develop and support interdisciplinary project teams and previous involvement in and development of programmatic content. The role will span the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Engaged Teaching and Scholarship Faculty Fellow

The Engaged Teaching and Scholarship Faculty Fellow works with the executive director of the Office of Community Engagement on strategies to support the development of community-engaged teaching and community-engaged scholarship on our campus. This includes, but is not limited to, creating seminars and workshops for faculty and graduate students, building networks and connections between interdisciplinary engaged faculty, and researching and evaluating new policies and programs to further advance community-engaged scholarship at Iowa. 

This position is filled for AY2024-2025.
