Tenure Workshop, March 31, 2014, 6:30-9:00 p.m. in 116 Art Building West

All tenure-track faculty members are invited to attend this year’s Tenure Workshop on Monday, March 31, 6:30-9:00 p.m. in 116 Art Building West.  An informal reception will be held from 6:30-7 p.m. The program, including an informal period for questions, will take place 7 to 9 p.m.  The workshop, co-sponsored by the University of Iowa Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), the Faculty Senate, and the Office of the Provost, will provide practical advice on how to be successful in obtaining tenure.

2014 workshop speakers will include:

  • Jeff Cox, Professor of History and Vice-President of the UI AAUP Chapter, Moderator,
  • Colin Gordon, Former DEO in the Department of History, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences,
  • Susan Johnson, Carver College of Medicine and University Ombudsperson,
  • Erika Lawrence, President of the Faculty Senate and Associate Professor of Psychology,
  • Maria Lukas, Deputy General Counsel, Office of the General Counsel,
  • Tom Rice, Associate Provost for Faculty, and
  • Katherine Tachau, Professor of History and President of the UI AAUP Chapter.
