Now Accepting Proposals for Fall 2017 First-Year Seminars

We are now accepting First-Year Seminar proposals for Fall 2017. First-Year Seminars introduce students to college-level learning, facilitate their transition to the University, and provide them with an opportunity to work closely with UI faculty, staff or a senior-level administrator. Instructors must obtain approval from their DEO or direct supervisor prior to submitting a proposal. In addition to faculty, executive and instructional staff may submit a proposal for review. Merit staff and graduate/teaching assistants are not eligible to teach a First-Year Seminar.

Even if you are currently teaching or have taught a First-Year Seminar in the past, you must submit a proposal in order to be considered for the Fall 2017 semester.

For more information, and to submit your proposal, please visit http://uc.uiowa.edu/academics/first-year-seminars/submitting-proposal.
Proposals must be submitted by Monday, February 6, 2017.

Additional information about First-Year Seminars, including policies and procedures and links to resources for instructors, is available on the University College website at http://uc.uiowa.edu/academics/first-year-seminars.

Thank you, in advance, for your interest in teaching a First-Year Seminar. Please contact me or Angie Lamb (angela-lamb@uiowa.edu) if you have any questions.
