Invitation to April 27 Session: Faculty Perspectives on the Culture for Teaching and Classroom Innovation

I would like to encourage interested faculty and administrators—particularly deans, associate deans, DEOs, and directors of undergraduate studies in undergraduate colleges—to attend an upcoming session on “Faculty Perspectives on the Culture for Teaching and Classroom Innovation at the University of Iowa.”

This session, hosted by the Center for Teaching, will describe the results of a three-year NSF-funded project that observed classroom practices, examined department climate for teaching, and identified possible obstacles to teaching innovation.  The project team has been working to identify effective strategies for supporting the adoption of evidence-based instructional strategies and creating a more inclusive learning environment that supports all students.

The session will be held on Friday, April 27 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. in Jones Commons (N300), Lindquist Center.  Please register in advance here: https://teach.its.uiowa.edu/events/faculty-perspectives-culture-teaching-and-classroom-innovation-ui.

Please also share this invitation with other faculty members, departmental leaders, and administrators who may be interested in supporting evidence-based teaching.
