International Programs Global Conference Award

Through the generous support of the Stanley-UI Foundation Support Organization, the International Programs’ Global Conference Award promotes important contributions to scholarly debates and exchanges on international topics, issues, discoveries, and arts.  Proposals for events that will take place on The University of Iowa campus and that will enhance international knowledge and understanding for University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students and are based on multi- and cross-disciplinary perspectives are currently being solicited.

The deadline is April 15, 2014.

All University of Iowa tenured and tenure-track faculty members are invited to apply.  Funding is for a one-year period beginning July 1, 2014. One award of $12,500 will be made.

Proposals for the International Programs Global Conference Award are reviewed considering the following criteria:

  • effectiveness in facilitating cross-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary engagement
  • logical design of objectives, methods, procedures, and outcomes
  • list of departments, programs, or groups on campus likely to participate or benefit
  • description of possibilities for student participation (if appropriate)

The committee to review Global Conference Award proposals is appointed and chaired by IP’s Director of Academic Programs.

Complete the following and send as attachments to no later than 5 p.m. on April 15, 2014. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
