Last year's On Iowa! was a resounding success, thanks in large part to the many volunteers who helped welcome incoming students to campus. Hundreds of you served the students and their families, helping with residence hall move-in, facilitating late-night activities, and coordinating a massive celebration at Kinnick Stadium, not to mention Convocation and the President's Block Party.

It was quite an event, and we were so proud of our campus community for coming together to help our new students navigate their first days at Iowa. Now, we need your help again.

High-performance computing (HPC) supports research that would not otherwise be possible at the University of Iowa – in some cases condensing the time required to run simulations from years to days. With the UI’s first HPC cluster, Helium, operating near capacity, Information Technology Services is now building a second cluster, Neon, that will be be open to researchers by the year’s end.

ITS will soon begin migrating student e-mail to Microsoft Office 365, providing them with larger mailboxes (25 GB vs. 1 GB today) and a full portfolio of communication and collaboration tools: (Excel, Power Point, Word, OneNote, instant messaging, video conferencing, and online meetings).
