The Council on Teaching is now accepting proposals from faculty and staff directly involved with student instruction for special funding to support instructional initiatives that will make exceptional and specific contributions to learning.  The deadline for applications is Friday, September 25, 2015 at 5:00 pm, which is earlier than previous years to allow more time for the 2015-2016 awarded projects to be completed.

The Chief Diversity Office is pleased to announce a new professional development initiative for University of Iowa faculty and staff, beginning fall 2015.

Building University of Iowa Leadership for Diversity (BUILD) creates an opportunity for UI faculty and staff to develop strategic knowledge and skills to contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. By completing a series of workshops, participants will earn a certificate demonstrating their commitment to acting as leaders for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and classroom.

Requests for new or revised miscellaneous (academic or administrative) fees for 2016-17 are to be received by the chair of the miscellaneous fee committee by August 29, 2015, using the Miscellaneous Fee Request Form available at here. Include an explanation of how the fee will be used and a detailed accounting of the expenses to be covered by the fee.

In a few weeks, the On Iowa! 2015 program will be in full swing to welcome our campus community's newest students. We still have a variety of volunteer positions to fill during this very exciting -- and busy -- time of year.

If you are able to spare two to three hours between Tuesday, August 18 through Sunday, August 23 to assist and interact with members of the Class of 2019 and transfer students, please consider volunteering.
