Over the next few months, departments and colleges will be involved in the process of arriving at recommendations for the awarding of tenure, and for promotions in all academic ranks.  The policies and procedures related to promotion and tenure are provided in the links below.

Our campus will be strengthened by the implementation of a new Instructional Faculty policy during the upcoming academic year.  The policy was developed by the UI Faculty Senate and Office of the Provost through an extensive shared governance process, including the active participation of the UI Faculty Senate Lecturer subcommittee.  The UI Instructional Faculty policy was approved by the UI Faculty Senate, 3/22/2016, the Office of the Provost, 4/11/2016, and the Office of the President, 5/4/2016.  Colleges that wish to

The number of UI students who require academic accommodations and the type of accommodations requested for exams (e.g., double-time, alternative format, scribes, and assistive technology) continues to increase.  This increased demand for examination accommodations led Student Disability Services (SDS) to ask faculty during the last academic year to administer examinations/quizzes for UI students in need of reduced distraction testing and/or extended time (time and one-half) to take examinations.  We appreciate the support faculty and staff provide to students who need academic accommodation

Requests for new or revised miscellaneous (academic or administrative) fees for 2017-18 are to be received by the chair of the miscellaneous fee committee by August 26, 2016, using the Miscellaneous Fee Request Form available at here. Include an explanation of how the fee will be used and a detailed accounting of the expenses to be covered by the fee.

Greetings, Hawkeye Colleagues.

In a few weeks, the 2016 On Iowa! program will be in full swing to welcome our campus community's newest students. We still have a variety of volunteer positions to fill during this very exciting -- and busy -- time of year.

If you are able to spare two to three hours between Wednesday, August 18 through Sunday, August 21 to assist and interact with members of the Class of 2020 and transfer students, please consider volunteering.
