Academic Writing Club

Dear pre-tenure faculty members,

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce a limited amount of funding to support pre-tenure faculty members’ participation over the summer in the structured online writing services offered by the Academic Writing Club.

The Academic Writing Club is an accountability-based online coaching system designed to increase faculty writing productivity by:

  • Introducing and practicing research-based writing productivity strategies;
  • Establishing writing goals, daily writing practice, and monitoring progress; and
  • Providing the services of a writing coach and support of a small group of peers in an online writing community.

The Academic Writing Club operates year-round as a program of the Academic Ladder; the Office of the Provost is offering to fund pre-tenure faculty members’ enrollment fees for the four-week session beginning May 26, 2014 to jumpstart your summer writing productivity.  An opportunity to extend the enrollment during the summer may be available for those who found the four-week session useful.

If you are interested in enrolling in the Academic Writing Club’s four-week writing productivity session starting May 26, 2014, please apply by Friday, May 16th.  Funding is limited and will be offered on a first-come basis.  You will receive confirmation of an award and further instructions for enrollment on Monday, May 19, 2014.
