Faculty Rank and Status Codes
When making a faculty appointment, determine jobcode by combining faculty status and rank according to the information below.

| F_14 | Instructor | FS14 only for ABD tenure-track appointments |
| F_15 | Lecturer | 1-year renewable |
| F_16 | Associate | FH16 - 3-year maximum |
| F_17 | Assistant in Instruction | 1-year renewable |

| FC__ | Clinical | Non-tenure track, usually unremunerated, up to 3-year renewable |
| FH__ | Ad-Hoc | Non-tenure track, 1-year renewable, 3-year maximum |
| FV__ | Visitor | Non-tenure track, 3-year maximum |

| FQ__ | Clinical Track | Salaried, non-tenure track, 1-7 year renewable (See OM III 10.9 d) |
| FS__ | Tenure Track | Probationary in the tenure track, not yet tenured, 50% or > |

| FE__ | Emeritus | Retired, formerly tenure or clinical track |
| FP01 & FP02 | Postdoctoral | Appointments are made through the Graduate College |
